According to the famous linguist George Yule's theories of intercultural pragmatics and the divi-sion of the conversational styles, three conclusions are to be drawn from the aspects of cultural values, high/ low context, properties of ethnics and language, thinking patterns: 1 ) different cultural concepts, properties of ethnics and language, thinking patterns determine that the American and British conversations belong to the high involvement style, while the Chinese conversation to the high considerateness style;
Part Two comprises topics regarding the globalization of English language considered closely with global economic unification on the communicative level, and that of language thinking perceived inseparably from global cultural pluralization on the thinking level.
In English teaching, the cultivation of students' question consciousness has an important function in the development of language thinking, the formation of a good individual character, the play of his initiative and the cultivation of creativity etc.
