Based on the theoretical study and calculation on the characteristic of vertical deformation of sandstone under high pressure water injection and properties of casing strength under axial extent stress, this paper introduces the mechanism of casing deformation in sandstone under high pressure injecting. As an example, Shuangyushu oilfield in Daqing is used to demonstrate the relationship between water injection prbssure, casing stress and casing strength.
