In this paper, 1-triacontanol has been prepared by the saponification of crude bran-wax or beeswax with aqueous sodium hydroxide solution in the presence of 0.5~5 per cent of phasetransfer catalyst, ammonium triethylbenzyl chloride or dibenzo 18-crown-6. The saponification was completed within two hours at 70~100℃. The solid substance obtained after saponification is extracted with acetone, the residue after removal of acetone is recrystallized from ethanol and then from benzene to give white plate-like crystals....

The sealed filter can be used as an extractor at the same time. The filtering net can be recovered in the device conveniently, The sealad filter is suitable for bran wax and oil separation as well as for other solid-liquid separation systems.
