    A new method, based on electrical conductivity, for the study of demulsification has been developed and applied to W/O emulsions, using oleic acid-ammonium oleate as emulsifying agent.From the variation of conductivity with time the rate of coagulation of the water droplets and the activation energy of the process have been calculated.     A new method, based on electrical conductivity, for the study of demulsification has been developed and applied to W/O emulsions, using oleic acid-ammonium oleate as emulsifying agent.From the variation of conductivity with time the rate of coagulation of the water droplets and the activation energy of the process have been calculated. It was concluded that the rate of coagulation is determined primarily by the coalescence of the water droplets and is kinetically of first order, the most important factor being the breakdown of the surface film. The effect of the amount of emulsifying agent on the activation energy has been pointed out and the result of Wellman and Tartar on the influence of temperature on stability has been discussed in light of this work.

    (1)本文提出水/油型乳状液型变动力学的新研究方法——电导法. (2)测定不同温度下以油酸及氨水为乳化剂时水/矿物油乳状液的电导率-时间关系,并找出二者间存在线性关系. (3)解析此体系的水滴聚结速率并计算水滴聚结活化能.证明对此体系而言,聚结速率取决于水滴凝并速率,而服从类如一级反应的动力学规则.阐明界面膜的破裂为决定过程速率的首要因素. (4)指出乳化剂浓度不同时可表现于聚结活化能的差异及由此导致的乳状液的不稳定性.从此种动力学观点,“稳定温度”及其乳化剂浓度效应得到一种可能的诠释.

    ABSTRACT In this investigation we have studied the effects of salts (sodium chloride,sodium acetate and sodium butyrate) on the adsorption of acids (hydrochloric,acetic and butyric acids).The adsorbent was purified sugar charcoal (activated at 1100°).The amounts adsorbed were measured by determining the total acids remaining in the solution before and after equilibrium had been established.The solutions were analyzed by titration with sodium hydroxide.Although the adsorption of any one of these acids is increased...

    ABSTRACT In this investigation we have studied the effects of salts (sodium chloride,sodium acetate and sodium butyrate) on the adsorption of acids (hydrochloric,acetic and butyric acids).The adsorbent was purified sugar charcoal (activated at 1100°).The amounts adsorbed were measured by determining the total acids remaining in the solution before and after equilibrium had been established.The solutions were analyzed by titration with sodium hydroxide.Although the adsorption of any one of these acids is increased in the presence of sodium chloride,but the factor for increasing the adsorption of different acids may be different.Salting effect cannot explain all these results,because sodium chloride decreases the activity coefficient of hydrochloric acid but increases its adsorp-tion.It is suggested that the increase of adsorption of hydrochloric acid by sodium chloride is due to the effect of concentration.For these systems,the hydrolytic adsorption of sodium chloride is also a possible factor for the increase of the adsorption of acids. The adsorption of organic acids is decreased in the presence of its salt.It is sug-gested that two factors contribute to the decrease of adsorption of acids:(a) the lower-ing of activity coefficient,and (b) the adsorption of organic salts.But from the avail-able data,it is not possible at present to decide on the relative importance of these factors. For the systems of acetic acid-sodium butyrate and hydrochloric acid-sodium butyrate,the adsorption isotherms are similar to those of butyric acid-sodium butyrate.Similarly,for the systems of butyric acid-sodium acetate and hydrochloric acid-sodium acetate,the adsorption isotherms are similar to those of acetic acid-sodium acetate.For these sys-tems,the ionization equilibrium in the solution must be considered.From theoretical analysis,it is concluded that these systems are mixtures of two acids and two salts.From the value of equilibrium constants and the concentrations of salts (0.5N,1.0N) and acids (0.1N) used,it is concluded that the acids present in these systems are essentially that of the salts added.This conclusion agrees with our experimental results.

    研究了三种盐(氯化钠、乙酸钠和丁酸钠)对三种酸(盐酸、乙酸和丁酸)吸附的影响.吸附剂是精制的糖炭,活化温度是1100°.用氢氧化钠滴定法测定吸附前后溶液酸总浓度,计算吸附量.虽然氯化钠的存在能增加盐酸、乙酸或丁酸的吸附量,但其增加吸附的原因则并不一样.氯化钠的存在使乙酸和丁酸的活度系数升高,但却使盐酸的活度系数降低,因此溶度不可能是增加吸附的唯一原因.我们认为盐酸吸附量所以增加是因为浓度的效应.在这些体系中,盐的水解吸附也可能是增加吸附的一种原因.对于乙酸+乙酸钠、丁酸+丁酸钠的体系,盐的存在使酸的吸附量减少.在此二体系中,我们认为有二种原因可以引起酸的吸附的减少:(1)盐溶效应,(2)盐本身的吸附.现有的数据还不能断定两因子的相对重要性.乙酸+丁酸钠或盐酸+丁酸钠体系的吸附等温线与丁酸+丁酸钠的相似;丁酸+乙酸钠或盐酸+乙酸钠体系的吸附等温线与乙酸+乙酸钠的相似.在这些体系中,必须考虑溶液中的电离平衡.理论的分析表明这类体系实际上是二种酸和二种盐的混合物.因所加入的盐之浓度(0.5N,1.0N)比酸的浓度(<0.1N)大很多,故电离平衡的结果使溶液中的酸主要是组成盐的那种.此推论与实验结果相符.
