Most of the performances of methanol gasoline of 10%-15% ( volume fraction) methanol are nearly the same as those of unleaded motor gasoline and the RON is 1.5-3.5 higher.

It is found through computation and analysis that based on the premise that the structure parameters of the engine has not done adjustment , when the excessive air coefficient is different (the amount of oil supported is same), methanol petrol flame spread speed increases with the increasing mix ratio, power performance gradually reduces with the increasing mix ratio;
when the excessive air coefficient is same (the amount of oil supported is different), methanol petrol flame spread speed gradually reduces with the increasing mix ratio, engine temperature and burning emission heat gradually increases with the increasing mix ratio, power performance slightly drops with the increasing mix ratio at the same time.
The results indicate methanol-petrol in appropriate proportion should be used widely in automobile,and parts of non-metal materials should be displaced by anti-fusion-expanding materials.
The MPVA and MPA hot-pressed sheets exhibit the best and worst methanol/gasoline fuel permeation resistance among these modified resins, which show much better methanol/gasoline fuel permeation resistance than pure PE resin.
Similarly, after blending these barrier resins with PE, the methanol/gasoline fuel permeation resistance of the blended bottles improves to become significantly better than that of pure PE bottles.
