APPLICATION AND SIGNIFICANCE OF BASIC SEQUENCES AND MARKER BEDS TO 1∶50000 REGIONAL GEOLOGICAL SURVEYING∶EXAMPLES FROM THE PALAEOZOIC AND TRIASSIC STRATA IN THE SANDU AND XIUSHUI SHEETS NORTHWESTERN JIANGXI
Ar/39Ar geochronological, elemental and SrNd isotopic results of the Cretaceous basaltic rocks are presented from the central and northwestern Jiangxi Province. A typical basaltic sample (01JF76) from Shanggao, northwestern Jiangxi Province yields a 40Ar/39Ar plateau age of (137.0±0.1) Ma, and a basalt from Luosishan, central Jiangxi Province gives a 40Ar/39Ar plateau age of (90.2±0.3) Ma.
The surface runoff of forest in five different living conditions in northwestern Jiangxi Province is studied,the result shows that the forest land could be infiltrated well and the runoff is only 1—5% of rainfall out of forest.
Based on systematic research on the gold deposits in Jiaodong district and copper deposits in northwest Jiangxi Province, four anomaly belts with more significant in finding of hydrothermal ore deposits are summarized, namely: (1)concentrated anomaly belt, (2)abrupt anomaly belt, (3)composited anomaly belt and (4) superimposed anomaly belt.

Geochemical studies on Au distribution and mineralization in the Northwest Jiangxi Terrain
The Middle Proterozoic Jiuling Group, one of the most important geologic unit in the Northwest Jiangxi Terrain, is a kind of Au-bearing formation with a Au-Ag-As association, and its geotectonic setting belongs to the ACM area.
