Soil Mo contents in soils of China ranges from 0.1 to 6 mg/kg and the variation is primarily due to soil type and secondly, parent material. Soil Mo deficiency was observed in many soils mainly in two regions. Both total and available (oxalic acid and ammonium oxalate extractable) Mo contents are low in loessial soils and alluvial soils along the Yellow River, whereas only available Mo is low in acidic soils in the south of China. Soil available Mo contents was mapped into 5 grades on a scale of 1: 10,000,000....

This paper reports the background contents of 61 elements in Chinese soil and the distribution character and change trend of the distribution of some elements in the whole country. The atlas of China soil background values was briefly introduced in this paper. The examples for the application of the background values to the formulation of soil environmental quality standard and the study of human health and agriculture were discussed.

本文报告了中国土壤61种元素的背景值以及某些元素在全国的分布特征和变化趋势.简要介绍了中国土壤背景值图集.讨论了土壤背景值在制定土壤环境质量标准、研究人体健康和农业方面的应用实例.
