This paper uses the three-moment principle to carry out the alignment calculation of a marine shafting, which is treated as a variable section beam. The calculation process is programmed in the Basic language, and the program is applied to the aIignment eomputation of the shafting in a full-scale ship, a 16,000T multi-purpose cargo ship.
