In this paper the investigation of strengthening the magnetic property of uraniferous minerals is made using the new method of magnetic seeding. This method can make some uraniferous minerals to be separated from gangue only in medium magnetic-field intensity without requirement of strong magnetic field. The influence of magnetic-field intensity, magnetic seed dose, stirring mode, speed and time, dose of coilector-gglaomerant, pulp density, pH of medium, etc. on the magnetic seeding results is investigated for Saima uranium ore, Meihuashan (Ningdu) marginal ore and the 721-7 ore. The results and the optimum conditions for treatment are given for the mentioned ore samples by both dry and wet magnetic seedings. the mechanism of magnetic seeding is discussed.

This paper studies magnetic coating behaviours of magnetic seeds on carbonate phosphate ore. Action mechanism of magnetic coating is revealed. The study shows that magnetic seeds selective coated on dolomite and calcite minerals, but didn't coat on phosphate minerals. The mixture containing 23.96% P 2O 5 was processed with magnetic coating and high intensity magnetic separation. Phosphate concentrate containing 30.54% P 2O 5 was obtained with recovery of 90.27%.

Based on magnetic coating tests of manually mixed ore, a study is made on solution chemistry of the phosphate carbonate minerals so dium oleate system to reveal the mechanism of magnetic coating. The results show that in the pH range of 6-7, sodium oleate is selectively absorbed onto the surfaces of carbonate minerals, resulting in hydrophobicity of their surfaces. The surfaces of carbonate minerals are coated with magnetic seeds by the influnce of hydrophobic power.

在人工磁覆盖试验的基础上 ,对磷矿 碳酸盐矿物 油酸钠体系进行了溶液化学的研究 ,探讨了磁覆盖的机理。研究表明 ,在pH值 6~ 7范围内 ,油酸纳选择性地吸附于碳酸盐矿物表面 ,使其表面疏水化。由于疏水力的作用 ,促使磁种覆盖于碳酸盐矿物表面。
