     In this paper, the dependence of the efficiency of anisotropic diffraction in LiNbO3 crystals on the beam polarization and recording configuration is theoretically calculated based on two constrains for remarkable anisotropic diffraction, the phase matching and non-zero effective electro-optic coefficients. It is found that the anisotropic diffraction efficiency is remarkable and easy to observe in transmission gratings written by two extraordinary beams with the crystal axis parallel to the plane of writing beams and perpendicular to the crystal entrance surface.
     本文基于有效电光系数非零和布拉格相位匹配条件,对在LiNbO3晶体中各向异性衍射的衍射效率与光束偏振态和写入几何的关系进行了较为详细的理论计算和分析,发现光轴在写入光平面且垂直于晶面时,用非寻常光写入的透射光栅可发生显著的各向异性衍射,并且读出角与写入角相差很小,因而易于观察。

Recording can be completed with He-Ne laser. Exposure of 15mJ/cm2 is sufficient for the transmisson grates with a diffraction efficiency of 80%. Resolution is more than 4000cyc/mm. Under dry condition such materials have a shelf life that exceeds half a year. Lippmann holograms with red color or orang or green can be obtained with suitable exposure...
