The results showed that acid treatment results in the dissolution of magnesium from sepiolite framework and the formation of a high specific surface area material. The catalytic performance determination showed that comparing with Pt/Al2O3, Pt/sep-Al2O3 has higher activity for cyclohexane dehydrogenation and anti-poisoning ability, In addition, the results revealed that electronic effect is more significant than steric effect in cyclohexane dehydrogenation reaction over Pt/sep-Al2O3 catalyst.
