The soil-structure interactive analysis with the consideration of consolidation effects of the saturated soil is discussed in this paper. With the use of substructuring technique, the structure and the loads applied on it are condensed onto the interfaces between soil and structure, then the governing equation to describe the deformation-seepage process of soil-structure system with boundary and drained or undrained conditions are given. An improved staggered, iterative solution scheme and its corresponding algorithm for the implicit-implicit integration procedure of the governing equation are presented. The presented work has been implemented in a program SACESS-J for structure analysis with consideration of consolidation effects of saturated soil, which is developed based on existing program JIGFEX-W for structure analysis on micro-computers. Numerical results show the coupling effects between structure deformation and consolidation process of saturated soil.
