For the purpose to obtain new pyroceram materials, the crystalline phases of glasses in the system Li_2O-Al_2O_3-SiO_2 were studied. Glass batches of compositions in the tridymite,lithium metasilicate, lithium disilicate and spodumene primary phase regions of Li_2O—Al_2O_3—SiO_2 system were melted and crystallised.The resulting crystalline phases were identified with X-ray diffraction method. Since the primary phases in equilibrium diagram usually did not appear in the corresponding 'pyroceram', the authors...

For the purpose to obtain new pyroceram materials, the crystalline phases of glasses in the system Li_2O-Al_2O_3-SiO_2 were studied. Glass batches of compositions in the tridymite,lithium metasilicate, lithium disilicate and spodumene primary phase regions of Li_2O—Al_2O_3—SiO_2 system were melted and crystallised.The resulting crystalline phases were identified with X-ray diffraction method. Since the primary phases in equilibrium diagram usually did not appear in the corresponding 'pyroceram', the authors studied the processes of crystallization in an attempt to find the relation between the struct(?)re of crystalline media and microcrystals. From the experimental data it was concluded:(1) In the presence of 3.5% K_2O, 0.03% CeO_2 and 0.015% Ag (by wt.), the crystalline phases of glasses in the above fields are lithium metasilicate, lithium disilicate, eucryptite and various forms of quartz; no tridymite and spodumene was found in the X-ray results.(2) The minimum Al_2O_3 content in glasses must be higher than 5.7 mole percent to obtain eucryptite crystals in the crystalline phases. This value is comparable with the calculated theoretical value assuming that Al_2O_3 is homogeneously distributed in glasses and microcrystals are build up along 14 directions.(3) In glasses of lithium disilicate pyrocerams, lithium metasilicate usually crystallized first then was transformed to lithium disilicate at higher temperature. The authors postulate that in glassas,Li-ions aggregate to many micro lithium rich regions, where number of Li-ions in unit volume of glass happens nearly the same of that in unit volume of lithium metasilicate. Structures of low temperature phases are more resemble to their parent glasses,so lithium metasilicate crystallizes first. At higher temperature there are less number of Li-ions in unit volume owing to thermal diffusion, so the lithium metasilicate transforms to lithium disilicate.Finally the authors proposed a microheterogeneous model for structure of the studied glasses.

In view of the fact that in our country abound with natural resources of alkali-metaloxides containing minerals and rocks, mineral waste of mining and metallurgical indu-stries etc, the perspective of the enlargement of structure of raw materials in glass in-dustry has been discussed. It is suggested that, according to the characteristics of chemi-cal compositions of natural alkali-metal oxides containing mineral materials, it will beconvenient to transform partially the traditionally applied Na_2O-CaO-SiO_2...

In view of the fact that in our country abound with natural resources of alkali-metaloxides containing minerals and rocks, mineral waste of mining and metallurgical indu-stries etc, the perspective of the enlargement of structure of raw materials in glass in-dustry has been discussed. It is suggested that, according to the characteristics of chemi-cal compositions of natural alkali-metal oxides containing mineral materials, it will beconvenient to transform partially the traditionally applied Na_2O-CaO-SiO_2 system in glassindustry into Na_2O-Al_2O_3-SiO_2 system. Some problems such as the rational choice of che-mical composition of glasses, the application of complex refining agents etc, are studied.As a result of the author's researches, it is not necessary to melt high alumina-con-taining glasses at the temperature higher than that of glasses based on the Na_2O-CaO-SiO_2 system. On the basis of their viscosity-temperature curves, the forming and anneal-ing temperatures of high alumina-containing glasses must be adjusted correspondingly. Somephysico-chemical properties of glasses based on Na_2O-Al_2O_3-SiO_2 system have been des-cribed.

In order to investigate "athermalized" glass,the formulae W=β+ (n-1)α,P=β-((αE)/(2(1-μ)))×C_1+3C_2) and Q=((αE)/(2(1-μ)))(C_1-C_2) for calculations have been used. The conclusions of this paper are as follows: (1)The parameters in the formulae above can be calculated directly from thecompositions of glasses. (2)The relation between the calculated p, Q and the compositions of glasses is li-near. (3)The analysis of the calculated results by a graphic method shows that it is possi-ble to prepare the "athermalized" glass satisfying the formulae W→0 and (P-Q)→0 fromthe phosphate glass system.

为了寻找“低热光畸变”玻璃,使用了W=β十(n-1)α,P=β-(αE/2(1-μ))(C_1+3C_2)和Q=(αE/2(1-μ))(C_1-C_2)等公式进行计算。若能达到W→0,同时(P-Q)→0,则可使热光畸变减至最小。 本文研究了用电子计算机计算P、Q、W及其它参数的方法和结果。 得出如下结论:(1)可以直接从玻璃成分计算上述各式中的诸参数;(2)计算得出的P、Q值和玻璃成分呈线性关系;(3)利用图解法分析计算结果表明,有可能从磷酸盐系统玻璃中制得满足W→0同时(P-Q)→0的“低热光畸变”玻璃。
