In this paper,we introduce HCI functional specifica-tion,describe the realizat ion of data communication based on bluetooth HCI in hardware and software.The hardware module is Ericsson ROK101008bluetooth module,at the same time, we realize RS232transport layer by MSComm component.

This article briefly introduces the architecture of Bluetooth protocol, analyzes the formats of different types of packets defined in the host controller interface (HCI), and their usages. Combining the characteristics of Bluetooth with the micro-processor application system, the authors put forward the method of using the concept of state machine to design Bluetooth application software, and explain several points needing attention involved in the design of the software.
