The concept of subband is used in both subband coding and subband decomposition based on subband DFT. In this paper, their relationship is investigated and demonstrated in detail for the first time. The concept of subband is used in both subband coding and subband decomposition based on subband DFT. In this paper, their relationship is investigated and demonstrated in detail for the first time. At first, the theories of subband decomposition and subband coding are outlined respectively. Then the inherent relationship between them is established by applying two-channel perfect-reconstruction quadrature mirror filter (QMF ) through formula derivation and theoretical analysis. It is proved that the subband decomposition based on subband DFT and the subband coding utilize the same decomposition and reconstruction approach. The discussion is valuable for better understanding of the principle of subband decompostion, subband DFT and the rnergence of the two subband techniques.

概述了用于子带DFT的子带分解和子带编码中的有关“子带”的基本原理。通过理论分析和公式推导,用双通道完全重构滤波器建立了它们之间的内在联系,即用于子带DFT的子带分解与子带编码使用了相同的分解与重构技术。文中对深入认识子带分解和子带编码技术,以及二者的融合和发展具有重要的意义。
