However, with the increasing of plant age thekinetic parameters, km values of Vu35 increased significantly (P=5%) from0.09 mM at 8 days to 0.12 mM at 63 days and Vmax values decreased from 12.4μmol K~+/gF. W. R./h at 8 days to 1.24 μmol K~+/gF. W. R./h at 63 days old plantsiginifcantly (P=1%).So it suggests that K~+ uptake is most sensitive to rootparameters and the kinetic parameters of Vmax, km, and Cmin had smaller effects.

An exact knowledge of the relationship between root system and terres- trial growth can provide a scientific basis for fruit tree managemont. Some observations were made of the relationship between the growth movement of the root system of the apple-pear tree and its terrestrial growth. As a result,it was noticed that the starting,period of flower bud swelling was earlier than that of the root system;the root system in subsoil had two maximum growth phases. Concerning the growth rate of the cross diameter and vertical diameter of a fruit,the growth of vertical diameter grew more quickly than that of cross diameter at the early developmental stage when it was young, but later,the cross diameter grew more quickly than the vertical diameter,and by the mature period the vertical diameter grew more quickly again than the cross diameter.

The result showed that primary root and the frist to fourth layer of secondary roots grew downward with angles less than 45° to the ground. The angles became larger with the increases of root layers.
