The similar analysis in the model design and the ultimate strength experiment were presented in the paper, and the relationships of load-strain and load-deflection were obtained so as to determine the experimental result of ultimate strength of the similar model for the deck-barge. It applied the progressive collapse method to calculate the ultimate longitudinal bending moment of ship hull girder. The complete procedure was coded into a FORTRAN program. The numerical results had shown that the method and the program were good and reliable in application.
