The plate was used to treat organic waste gas, containing xylene, methanol, tar gas, carbon monoxide and methane. The kinetics of methanol oxidation catalyzed by the plate was studied. As compared with the honeycomb catalyst (17 pores/cm2, φ=2mm), the plate has larger external surface area, better pore structure and higher efficiency. A pilot test for waste gas treatment at a high space velocity (120,000-240, 000h-1) and a preheated temperature over 300℃ has been run for more than 5000h with 90% or higher conversion of xylene and cresol.
