A preliminary investigation of the effects of chemical structure of polymer and filler on the friction wear behavior of some pastes has been carried out.The polymers with long fatty chain structure or main chain structure of amide bond or amido-ester bond show good wear resistance, especially poly amidoesters with two-phase structure of flexible segmenl and rigid segment.

Environmental stress cracking (ESC) of Polyethylene (PE) Samples has been reviewed with 38 references. The most important achievement in the last decade was the successful application of fracture mechanics to analyze the mechanism of ESC. There have been many methods for improving ESC resistance of PE but most of them were empirical.
