The range of glass formation and the thermal and electrical properties of PbO-Al_2O_3-B_2O_3 system were investigated. The paper discribes the principal block-diagram of the relay and its main parts, and presents the results of testing.The analysis and tests show that the relay is highly reliable and sensitive, and its operating time is short. In phosphate glass,when the ratio of phosphorous to oxygen(P/O) nears to 0.333 and theratio of aluminium to oxygen(Al/O) is nearly or not more than 0.111,the Al~(3+) is mainly in 6 coordination state to form [AlO_6] octahedrafilling in the interval among the network composed mainly by the stru-ctureal unit of [PO_4] tetrahedroid. when the ratio of P/O is nearly ornot more than 0.250 and the ratio of Al/O nears to 0.250, most of Al~(3+) arein 4 coordination state to form [AlO_4] tetrahedroid filling in the inte-rval among the network composed mainly by the structural unit of[PO_4] tetrahedroid. The variation of coordillative state for Al~(3+) andB~(3+) is not only dependent on the ratios of alumina to alkali and alk-aline earth metal oxide (Al_2O_3/R_2O+RO) and boric oxide to alkali and alka-line earth metal oxide (B_2O_3/R_2O+RO) respectively. when B~(3+) and Al~(3+) exi-st simultaneously in glasses, it is possible that B~(3+) forms the tetrahed-ral structure [MO_4] in glass Prior to Al~(3+), the average coordinationnumber of Al~(3+) and the amount of [AlO_6] octahedra are increased along with the increment of the ratio of B_2O_3/Al_2O_3 The role of the change of phosphate glass structure is differentfrom that of silicate and other glasses, because phosphate glass containsstructural unit of [PO_4] tetrahedroid. It has been known that at[PD_4]tetrahedroid consists of three σ single bonds and one dual bond whichitself is fomed by one a bond, and one π bond. As the link force of σbond is stronger than that of π bond, and the dual bond has both theproperties of stronger bond and weaker bond. π bond is easier to strainunder some certain external conditions and it is possible for the dualbond to be opened and take part in reaction. The energy released fora σ bond is more than that required for a π bond to be destroied. ther-efore the glasses will be in a stabler state from the view of energy afterP=O dual bond has been destroied and a σ bond has been found. further,Al~(3+) an B~(3+) in phosphate glass have possibility to capture oxygenprovided by alkali and alkali-earth and then to form [MO_4] tetrahedr-oid structure In the meantime the P=O dual bond of [PO_4] tetrahedroid ispossibly opened to transform the dual bond oxygen into bridged oxy-genand then form [MO_4] tetrahedroid structure. As a result, the variationsof coordinative state for Al~(3+) and B~(3+) in phosphate glass are not onlydependent on the ratio of their own oxide to alkali and alkali-earth.
