The passive distributed microsatellites Synthetic Aperture Radar(SAR) system has the capabilities in improving image resolution, detecting ground moving targets and computing digital elevation models. But the input Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) of the system will largely reduce compared with the active spaceborne radar because of the decrease of its receiving antenna’s area, which will degrade the performance of the system. This paper analyses the effect of the SNR’s reduction on SAR imagery, Digital Elevation Model (DEM) and Ground Moving Target Indication (GMTI), based on the JERS-1 acted as the active satellite, and comes to a conclusion that the SNR obtained from the system would be lower than what the system required. Some methods to improve the system’s output SNR by coherent or noncoherent operating are also discussed.

小卫星分布式合成孔径雷达(SAR)系统可以提高成像分辨率,检测地面运动目标和进行数字高程测量。但由于小卫星接收天线面积的减小使其输入信噪比相对于主星大大降低,这将严重影响系统的性能。该文以JERS-1为主星,分析了小卫星分布式SAR系统的信噪比以及信噪比降低对成像、测高、检测动目标等的影响。分析表明此系统的信噪比将不能满足系统对信噪比的最低需求。最后讨论了用相干或非相干处理来改善系统输出信噪比的方法。

In single channel moving target detection of airborne radar,if radar Doppler resolution of coherent process is worse than the width of mainlobe clutter spectrum,mainlobe clutter and slow moving target can not be effectively differentiated,which will give rise to great difficulty in detection of moving target.A projection matrix method is presented in order to reduce the effect.The method suppresses mainlobe clutter in time domain using projection matrix,and transforms the data into Doppler domain.Since mainlobe clutter is suppressed effectively,the performance of system on detection of slow moving target is great improved.At last a comparison on signal-to-noise ratio loss between projection matrix method and three-pulse canceller is made.Theoretical derivation and simulation show the improvement on signal-to-noise ratio loss compared with three-pulse canceller.

在机载单通道雷达的运动目标检测中,若雷达相干处理的Dopp ler分辨能力差于主瓣杂波Dopp ler谱宽,在Dopp ler域主瓣杂波无法与慢速目标有效区分,这给运动目标检测带来了很大的困难。文中提出的投影矩阵方法首先在时域将主瓣杂波滤除,然后进行多普勒滤波,由于主瓣杂波被有效抑制,系统对慢速目标的检测能力大大提高。理论推导和仿真实验证明,投影矩阵方法在主杂波之外信噪比损失性能比三脉冲相消方法有明显的改善。
