A polarization independent Ti:LiNbO 3 high speed modulator with traveling wave electrode is reported. Operating at 1.3 μm optical wavelength, the bandwidth of 3.5 GHz, half wave voltage of 17.8 V and insert loss of 7 dB are obtained. The polarization independent modulator is made out for the first time.
A novel configuration of 2×2 all optical polarization independent bidirectional fiber optical switch is presented.
