Through analizing the characteristics of genetic variation in vegetatively propagated plants, particularly fruit trees, this article discusses the causes and crux of strength of transmission capacity of hereditary characters, de- fines the capacity in terms of genetic concept, gives the percentage of bree- ding value to genetic value, and puts forward quantitative criteria for the capacity and method of its estimation with a computer.

杂交良种成败的主要关键在于亲本的选择。人们对果树、花卉等无性繁殖植物从事长期的,大量的育种实践中,深刻地体会到仅仅以表型的优劣作为亲本选择的依据是很不够的。除了表型以外,还必须重视性状的遗传传递力。但是长期以来,人们对传递力只停留在经验和顾名思义的理解上,至于什么是性状遗传传递力强弱的实质?决定传递力强弱的原因何在?能否给传递力以一定的客观指标以及用什么方法度量性状的遗传传递力等一系列问题却研究得很少。遗传理论的研究和果树胄种实践的脱节是实现果树育种现代化的主要障碍之一。本文从分析果树等无性繁殖植物遗传变异的特点出发,讨论了性状遗传传递力强弱的原因和实质,给予性状遗传传递力以遗传学的概念,育种值即加应效应值在全部遗传值中所占的比率;并结合果树特点,拟定了传递力数量上的指标及电子计算机估算方法。

本文曾参加在美国戴维斯加利福尼亚大学召开的第22届国际园艺大会上发言。全文介绍了建国以来几种主要果树的育种与品种改良方面的成就,包括苹果、梨、葡萄、桃、山楂、猕猴桃与柑桔,论述了果树的栽培历史、种质资源、育种目标、新品种的培育、生产推广与主要经济性状的遗传等。

The latest developments of fruit tree breeding attained by applying in vitro technology were reviewed. The technology, including embryo culture, anther culture, endosperm culture, protoplast culture and its fusion, mutants from cultures, and cultures' storage for genetic conservation, was briefly presented. Some questions related to the investigation were also discussed.

本文综述胚胎培养、花药培养、胚乳培养、原生质体培养及其融合,利用培养物获得突变体和超低温保存培养物等植物离体培养技术在果树育种研究上的应用进展,并讨论一些与上述内容有关的问题。
