Cheng Caiqiang (Iron & Steel Research Institute of Maanshan Iron & Steel Company) The present paper relates to feeding of Si-Calcum core wire into the 35-tonne ladle for treating the molten steel with emphasis being put on the analysis of feeding process and its effects.Experiments demonstrate that the new process has achieved very remarkable results in deoxidization,desulphurization and improvment in molten steel concasting performance as well as enhancement of steel quality.

Centering around the technique of feeding Si--Ca cored wire into the ladle this paper described the relevant techniques such as teeming with slag preventative measures, hot ladle teeming and argon bubbling in the ladle and analyzed results of those measures in improving properties and quality of the liquid steel and the cconomical effectiveness.
