In this paper, the quenching of 30CrMnSi Steel at Sub-critical temperatures is mainly studied, and the effect of strengthening-toughening has been investigated by means of an optical and electron microscopy, tests of mechanical properties and an analysis of breaking section.The influence of the temperatures, the frequency of quenching, the original structures and the tempering temperatures on the effect of the quenching at sub-critical temperature is discussed.The result of the work shows that, after the quenching at sub-critical temperatures, the strength and the toughness of 30CrMnSi Steel at normal atmospheric temperature and low temperature have been increased, and especially the tempering brittleness and the toughness have been obviously improved.
