The sedimentation of different types of inorganic powders , oil-water dispersion with inorganic dispersant system , powder adsorption by monomer and the effects of surfactants on inorganic dispersant system were discussed . The polymerization experiments were carried out in a glass reactor of 1 L . The effects of various surfactants , concentration of inorganic dispersant and agitator speed on suspension polymerizations of styrene (St) or methyl methacrylate (MMA) with Mg(OH)2 and hydroxyapatite (HAP ) respectively were also researched .Sedimentation experiments show that the dispersant system , suspension of which is of coarse grain or flocculent precipitate with undistinguishable sedimentation interface , e .g . BaCO3 ,CaCO3 or BaSO4, is unstable . However the inorganic powder ,suspension of which is of fine grain precipitate with undistinguishable sedimentation interface and uniform distribution of concentration , e.g . Mg(OH)2 or HAP, is more favorable to act as dispersant . The electron microscope pictures show that both Mg(OH)2 and HAP powder are acicular crystal of about φ 0.5 μm × 2.5 μm . Further studies indicate the production of HAP is more slow , the sedimentation half cycle ( T0.5 ) of HAP get stablized after some hours .However , the T0.5 of Mg(OH)2 almost keeps unchanged withtime.The adsorbed quantity of Mg(OH)2 onto MMA increases slightly after adding various surfactants . But adding surfactants makes process unstable in suspension polymerization of MMA or St for Mg(OH)2 system . However , the adsorbed quantity of HAP onto St has a great change from 9.8% to 65.6% after adding dodecylbenzene sulfonate (SDBS). Therefore , SDBS is non-fungible for HAP dispersant system , which makes the stability of suspension polymerization of MMA and St changed from unstable to stable .Increasing the concentration of dispersants , the polymer particle size decreases rapidly at first and the distribution narrows , later it tends to unchanged.Comparing with Mg(OH)2 , the HAP/ SDBS dispersant system which improves HAP hydrobicity and increases the quality of HAP adsorbed onto monomer is more favorable to act as dispersant of preparing coarse grains polystyrene . It has also been found that there is an optimum agitator speed for suspension polymerization with inorganic dispersants .

研究了BaCO_3,CaCO_3,MgCO_3,BaSO_4,Mg(OH)_2和羟基磷酸钙(HAP)等无机粉末分散体系的沉降特性、冷模分散、单体对粉末的吸咐量以及表面活性剂对无机分散体系的影响,并且用苯乙烯(St)、甲基丙烯酸甲酯两种单体进行了悬浮聚合实验。研究结果发现,Mg(OH)_2是一种良好的分散剂;十二烷基苯磺酸钠与HAP粉末并用能很好地稳定St的悬浮聚合;无机分散剂悬浮聚合工艺的一个重要传递特性是有一最佳搅拌转速。
