Present conditions of grain and vegetables polluted by agricultral chemicals and research development of harmless vegetables in some cities and towns are introduced in this article. Detailed investigation and analysis are made on situations and problems of pesticide pollution in the production of vegetables in Wuhan city. The authors also propose the implement of demonstration engineering project and discuss strategies on it in order to provide enough harmless vegetables for people in Wuhan city.

Thirty-six toamto varieties from AVRDC were evaluated for the resistance to bacterial wilt and the agronomic characters. The results showed that five tomato varieties R 304 10 N UG (5054),Cravel (5052),CLN1463 160 40 60 (5056),CLN1464 111 30 45 (5057),and Redlander (5059) had high resistance to bacterial wilt ,higher yield,good qualities,and are promising breeding materials.

于1996年从亚洲蔬菜研究与发展中心(AVRDC)引进36份番茄材料进行青枯病抗性鉴定比较及农艺性状调查,结果表明R303410NUG(5045)、Cravel(5052)、CLN14631604060(5056)、CLN14641113045(5057和Redlander(5059)等5份材料青枯病发生少且产量、品质表现较好,可望在育种上进一步利用。
