Among available models for predicting the seconary muzzle flash onset, some haven'tdealt with the reactions in the muzzle flash area. and some haven't considered the flow characteristics downstream the Mach disk. Therefore, these models predict the secondary muzzle flash onsets only according to the gas temperature behind the Mach disk. This paper presents a new ignition model for predicting the secondary muzzle flash onset in which the strength of the normal shock in the muzzle blast structure, chemical kinetics and turbulent jet are considered.The flow of downstream of the Mach disk is considered as a nonisothermal turbulent jet with chemical reaction in the model. The jet core is the propellant gas passing through the Mach disk with slower flow speed and higher temperature while the surrounding stream is the flow of the mixture of the propellant gas passing through the oblique shock with higher speed and lower temperature. The jet boundary layer is divided into two layers (see Fig.1): the inner layer I is the very thin one adjacent to the jet core, and the layer Ⅱ outside layer Ⅰ. The convection may be neglected as the gas velocity in the layer I is much lower than that in the layerⅡ, and the reactions are neglected in the second layer as the temperature of the gas in that region is much lower than that in Layer Ⅰ. Based on these assumptions, the ignition distance (the axial distance from the Mach disk to the point at which secondary flash will be ignited) was derived from the equation of energy of the turbulent jet boundary layer with reaction, and the ignition condition of the secondary muzzle flash was also obtained according to the feature of the high underexpanded muzzle jet.The author of this paper has used this model to predict the secondary muzzle flash of the 12.7mm rifle and cylindrical flash suppressors. The predicting results are in accordance with the experiments.

In terms of an Artificial Neural Netework(ANN),a forecast and diagnostic analysis system of the farmland soil moisture is established.A mixed model and a model involving the extension of time series of the artifivial neural network may be given in the system,respectively,based on soil humidity change and physical factors influencing its change as well.This system may be used to estimate depth of infiltrating water into soil and the change of soil moisture of different soil layers.Application results show that the system operated in interactive mode with Chinese character menu is convenient and superior on prediction and diagnostic analysis for farmland soil moisture due to ANN marked by quasi dynamical characterstic,adjusting parameter and structure.The sysytem is suitable to relieve the calamity of the agrometerological drought and to manage water resources.

采用人工神经网络(ANN)方法,研制了农田土壤湿度预测、诊断分析系统。该系统根据不同的土壤湿度特点和影响因子,可自动提供时间序列拓展的人工神经网络预测模型和人工神经网络的混合预测模型进行土壤湿度动态预测。并提供不同降水量的土壤湿度变化和水分渗透深度诊断分析。系统采用中文菜单显示的人机对话方式操作,使具有准动力学特性、多种可调参数和网络结构的ANN方法变得简便易于操作。实际使用表明,该系统对土壤湿度的预测、诊断分析效果良好,适用性强。为农田水资源管理和防旱抗旱提供了新的有效广泛和业务服务系统
