On the basis of the investigation of theQuaternary Period climate accomplished for the Lu shan Mountain, similarcomputations are performed on temperature and balance of mass of snow andice for the Huangshan and Tianmushan, indicating that the low temperaturesduring spring and autumn are favorable for snowfall and ice accumulation.Altitude of the snow line over East China during the Quaternary Period istheoretically inferred and found to be consistent with that determined bygeological study. It is further found that, with their advantageous topogra-phy. net accumulation of more than 200 meters of snow or ice may be attainedover the Huangshan in 500 years, and about 100 meters for the Tianmushan.
