本文对623套轿车前轮轮毂轴承的早期失效进行了统计分析。研究发现轿车轮毂轴承具有鲜明的失效特性。其主要失效形式为①轿车前轮轮毂所用的双到圆锥滚子轴承和双列球轴承都只有单列轴承部件发生早期失效;②大多数轴承内孔与轴径配合面有周向划痕;③除部分轴承滚道表面发生疲劳剥落外,较多轴承滚道表面发生条状等间距剥落;④多数轴承滚道表面出现等间距压痕;⑤滚动体的主要失效形式为疲劳剥落、大端出现环状划痕及点蚀;(6)部分轴承滚道表面有冲击压痕。这些失效现象与轿车轮毂的结构特征及车轮的动力学性能直接相关。作者建议轿车前轮轮毂应采用两个单列角接触轴承代替单个双列向心推力轴承。
