Cholesteryl acrylate (ChA) and copolymer cholesteryl acrylate and butyl methacrylate (pol(ChA-BMA) have been synthesized. Its molecular structures have been conformed by IR,1H NMR and elemental analysis. The phase transition of copolymer was observed by DSC and polarizing microscope.It was shown that the cholesteric liqoid crys talline phase can be formed at a certain condition.
