The mechanism of adhesion and friction of soil to solids is analyzed based on energy change in the interfaces between clay and solid. The variations in adhesion and friction of clay to solids with various factors such as soil moisture, normal pressure, and surface properties of solids are experimentally investigated. It is shown from experimental data that the characteristics of adhesion of soil to solids are obviously not identical with those of friction.

通常的固体材料在加载或卸载中保持恒应变时,应力均随时间而降低并逐渐弛豫至其稳定值。在将超弹性Ni51Ti49合金试样拉伸至应变约为4%后卸载,并保持在某一应变值时,观测到应力的反常弛豫,亦即恒应变时的应力随着时间而增加,逐渐达到其最大值后保持不变。同时测量了恒应变下应力弛豫过程中试样电阻的变化。用恒应变时应力诱导产生的无公度相(I)-公度相(C)转变以及马氏体转变对这一反常现象进行了解释。这一结果可为相界面运动动力学以及传导电子在I/C转变中的能量变化提供信息。
