The integral equation method for analysing the scattering fromtwo-dimensional objects of arbitrary cross section is extended to analyze the elastic andinelastic scattering from an arbitrary body embedded with active molecules,and the correc-tion of field inside the body is taken into account as the field point and source point areat the same position.The EM fields in various regions are expanded in terms of vectorspherical wave functions,and the expansion coefficients can be solved from a set of coup-led linear equations.The numerical results show that the integral equation method is accu-rate enough as the dielectric constant of the body is near to that of the surrounding me-dium and/or the maximum linear dimension of the body is near to the wavelength of theincident EM wave.
