The navigation coordinate, coordinate translation relationships, motion model of the UMA, calculation formulations of guidance parameter, rules of changing the desired track leg and the control algorithmand are proposed. By this method, based on GPS autonomous flying is realised for an unmanned air vehicle for the first time in China. Finally simulation and flight test results are given to illustrate the effectiveness and avalability of the method.

Virtual battlefield environment plays an important role in army's training and weapon system's assessment. In virtual battlefield environment, the man in loop simulators and many computer generated weapon platforms that moved autonomously can operate at the same time. This paper simulates helicopters' autonomous flight. And the result has indicated that the method in this paper could simulate helicopters' realistic movement in virtual battlefield environment.
