     According to the atmosphere and cloud radiation theory,and the cloud water drops Mie scattering theory,the information of lighting caused by strong convective cloud clusters during the night can be extracted from middle and thermal infrared channels of EOS/MODIS satellite data.     In this paper, the relationship between the sea surface temperature (SST) over the eastern equatorial Pacific and the monthly mean cloudiness anomalies is discussed. The main results are as follows:(1) There exists a positive correlation between SST anomalies over the eastern equatorial Pacific and the monthly mean cloudiness anomalies over central Pacific Ocean and a negative correlation between SST and cloudiness over the eastern and western Pacific Ocean.     In this paper, the relationship between the sea surface temperature (SST) over the eastern equatorial Pacific and the monthly mean cloudiness anomalies is discussed. The main results are as follows:(1) There exists a positive correlation between SST anomalies over the eastern equatorial Pacific and the monthly mean cloudiness anomalies over central Pacific Ocean and a negative correlation between SST and cloudiness over the eastern and western Pacific Ocean. Therefore, there are two zonal anomalous cycles over the equatorial Pacific Ocean.(2) There are coupled oscillations between the anomalies of SST and the monthly mean cloudiness anomalies. Its period is about 34-38 months. This phenomenon may be explained with the cloud-radiation feedback mechanism.(3) The monthly mean cloudiness anomalies over eastern equatorial Pacific Ocean are negative in the period ranging from 12 months before the warm SST to 6 months after that. From this, we could conclude that during this period the atmosphere can influence the ocean, i.e. the Walker circulation can influence SST.(4) The SST over eastern Pacific Ocean and the monthly mean cloudiness! anomalies over central Pacific also correlate highly with the trade over the central and western Pacific Ocean in the northern hemisphere.

The comparison between the calculated and ground-thuth data shows that two-level cloud height can be obtained using a proper combination of two sets of channel measurements, but if middle and low level clouds Simultaneously occur these cloud heights can not be classified.

    无论从气象角度还是气候角度讲,对卫星云辐射测值进行反演判释研究,从而提取诸如云顶高度、云顶温度、云的放射率、云厚以及云的含水量等参数都十分必要。本文主要介绍用NOAA卫星红外和微波通道测值,按其辐射率差比方法,定量判释两层云高的初步数值试验结果。经与地面实况对照分析表明:适当选择两组探测通道组合可以遥感两层云高,但还不能判释出中云和低云并存时各自的高度。
