The CENTURY model of soil organic matter developed by Parton and co-workers hasbeen used successfully for grasslands to predict dynamics of C, N, and others nutrition.
CENTURY 模型是由美国科罗拉多实验室的 Parton 和他的工作小组研发的,该模型成功的应用于草地的土壤有机质、N、P 等营养元素的模拟。
CENTURY model and its application in farmland ecosystem were introduced; relevant parameters required by CENTURY model and their determination were described in this paper.
multiple linear regressive model was used to study the response of forest vegetation carbon storage to the changes of forest land use and climatic factors.
The CENTURY model (Version 4.5) is used to examine temporal and spatial variations of soil organic carbon (SOC) in grasslands on the Plateau for the period from 1960 to 2002.
The release of SO42--S was rapid, and was described using either a first or mixed order exponential equation, or (underestimated) by the CENTURY model.
In this study, the sensitivity of the Century model was assessed in regards to uncertainties for soil texture, natural fire return periods, grazing intensities, and climate.
The Erosion Productivity Impact Calculator model (EPIC) was recently altered to include algorithms based upon concepts found in the Century model with the exception of a daily time step.
Century models are based on the soil texture and ecosystem functions in which the cycling of C and N are the key factors. A Century model was used to simulate and predict forest ecosystem functions, such as productivity, nutrient dynamics within the Dinghushan Biosphere Reserve. The results indicate that litter removal and shrub cutting affect biogeochemical cycling, reduce soil nutrients and lead to a decrease in long-term forest productivity. The model showed that as tnore biomass was removed, ...
In order to provide a methodological demonstration for the study of C cycle in forest, the CENTURY model was applied to simulate the C cycle in Larix gmelinii forest and to approach the impact of global change on it.The results showed that the Larix gmelinii forest served as a C sink, with an annual net absorption of 2.65t·hm -2 .Cimate change and increased atmospheric CO 2 concentration benefited for the net primary production (CNPP) and net C absorption capacity of forests in North Chin...
We applied CENTURY model (version 4.0) to simulate the impacts of forestry management practices on the carbon (C) balance of L. gmelini (Dahurian larch) forest. The model was validated using the observed data of L. gmelini forest ecosystem. The results indicated that L. gmelini forest served as a net C sink of about 2.65 t·hm -2 ·a -1 at present. Forest felling decreased the gross plant biomass and NPP while increased soil C content. When the harvesting rate was increased, the magnitude of t...
