     In order to reveal the effects of mixture concentrations on diesel engine exhaust emissions, by using a detailed chemical kinetic mechanism of n-heptane oxidation and chemical kinetics analysis code,numerical simulations were made on the formation and development course of young soot precursor particles and other important intermediates or radicals in diesel engine combustion processes, whose fuel-air equivalence ratios are from 0.3 to 0.6. The results indicate that, by reducing the mixture concentration, lower temperature combustion can be achieved.

     Based on a simplified but rational chemical reaction model, a chemical kinetic analysis on the behavior and role of active free radicals in the course of the purification of SO 2 and NO from flue gas under the condition of pulsed corona plasma has been made. It is shown that the radicals OH, O and HO 2 are primarily responsible for de SO 2 and de NO in gaseous oxidation. It has deen indicated that throngh the proper use of ope-rating parameters the CIHC combustion can be established practically,and therange of satisfactorily operating parameters was provided. The ignition and heat release process of CIHC combustion have been explainedtheoriticaly in terms of known chemical kinetics and applied combustion,a semi-empirical heat release equation which can be adopted for CIHC combustion wasdeveloped.
