Secondly, general literature sees many abstract similes due to their various psychological characteristics while simliles in children's literature mostly belong to figurative similes. Lastly, in the mode of perception, general literature is dependent on vision, obviously using more literary language in similes. Children's literature, on the other hand, depends on listening, showing a distinct trend of using spoken language in similes.
