In order to search for the efficient catalytic system for methanation of CO2, catalytic activities of solid products were also determined. The experimental results show that the catalytic activity for methanation of CO2 is influenced by the basicity of the support. The stable adsorption of CO2 on the surface of MgO due to the strong interaction between the LUMO of CO2 and the Lewis basicity center of the support makes CO2 difficult to be transferred to the metal. For SiO2, its basicity is too weak to increase the concentration of CO2 on the surface. Therefore, both of Ni-MgO and Ni-SiO2 systems have a lower activity for CO2 methanation. Among the supports studied, La2O3 is the most efficient one. Accordingly, the support plays a role not only in dispersing the metal, but also in adsorbing and transferring CO2.In conclusion, the present method not only offers an easy approach for understanding the decomposition process of supported complexes, but also affords a novel path to search for new efficient catalysts.

The activated carbon used for storing natural gas was prepared by cyclical activation method. The variation of the mass loss, packing density, surface area, distribution of pore diameter, amount of ash with the cyclical numbers were researched. It was also suggested that the comparison of the surface area should be based on per volumetric adsorbent.

用循环活化法制备了用于天然气定容储存的活性炭吸附剂。考察了活性炭的失重率、堆密度、比表面、孔径分布及灰分含量随活化次数的增加而变化的情况。提出了对于定容吸附储存,吸附剂比表面大小的比较应以单位体积吸附剂的比表面为基准。

The properties of super active carbon and the principle of adsorbing Natural Gas Storage are introduced in this paper. The analysisand prediction of Natural Gas Storage have been made. It is proposed that some embodiment problems in practice should be studied while research of adsorbing Natural Gas Storage is conducted.
