The existing problems of engineering geology investigation of dam safety assessment on the reservoirs of Jiangxi province now is analyzed. At last,the countermeasures of improving the engineering geology investigation is put forword.
This paper based on the dam safety appraisal report for Changsha dam, using original design data, has compared a variety of reinforcement schemes on dam, stilling basin, scour outlet and discharge sluice, dangerous rock body, flood-control road, one scheme is selected and reinforcement has been carried out according to the scheme.
This paper stated the development course and the importance of the large dam safety appraisal. Combined with the fundamental practice of large dam sefety appraisal work in Jiangxi province,this paper put forword some suggestions which is on improving the large dam safety appraisal work in the future.

According to assesment of Gongzui dam safety,engineering geology of dam foundation,foundationtreatment in construction,the main engineering geologic problems are generally introduced.Curtain groutingand curtain permeability are evaluated.The results show that the Gongzui dam safety will not be threatened.
