The impact of foliar leaching on growth and mineral nutrition contents of different salt resistant maize varieties under NaCl stress was investigated. The results showed that with the increasing of NaCl concentration from 100 to 200 mmol/L, shoot and root biomass decreased; foliar leaching could increase the biomass of saltsensitive maize under low NaCl stress (100 mmol/L). With the increasing of NaCl stress, the conductance ratio of maize increased significantly. The conductance ratio of salt resistant maize was lower than that of salt sensitive maize under high NaCl stress (200 mmol/L) and that of foliar leaching treatments was lower than that of no leaching treatment. With the increasing of NaCl stress, the contents of chlorophyll decreased and acidic leaching solution (pH3.5) decreased the chlorophyll contents of salt sensitive variety. With the increasing of NaCl stress, (1) the K +, Zn +, Ca +2 and Na + contents of shoot increased and the K + contents of root decreased. The K + contents of salt resistant variety were higher than that of salt sensitive one. The Na + contents of root remained unchanged; (2) the root Ca +2 and Zn + contents of salt sensitive variety increased and those of salt resistance remained unchanged; (3) the Mg +2 contents of shoot and root and the Fe +2 contents of shoot remained unchanged. The Fe +2 contents of root were higher than that of shoot and under same NaCl stress the shoot Fe +2 contents of saltresistance were higher than that of salt sensitive one. Foliar leaching decreased the shoot K +、 Na +、 Ca +2 ane Zn +2 contents and the shoot Mg +2 contents remained unchanged. Acidic leaching solution decreased the shoot Fe +2 contents of salt sensitive variety and the root Fe +2 contents of salt sensitive variety remained unchanged. Foliar leaching had no significant effect on mineral nutrition of root.
