English Curriculum Standard recommends implementing Task-based Approach in English teaching so as to do things with words and foster students' comprehensive competence of using the language. This paper briefly sets forth Task-based Approach, holds that Task-based Approach is an important one but not the only one in completing English learning tasks and puts forward the Dialectic Approach.
