T. F. W. Barth calculating method is a common one which is used for studying the chemical composition changes of rocks which will undergo metasomatism-alteration before and after. It is extensively applied to the study of altered rocks and minerals. The auther of this paper puts foreward several amendment for Barth calculating method in the light of some concrete geologic condisions in practical application, especilly the change of rock density before and after metasomatism—alteration, moreover calculates and introduces further for this calculating method. If we use Barth method for calculating regardless of the change of rock density after alteration, we must exaggerate or reduce the output and input of elements and make mistakes in calculations. A more useful and desired calculating result must be from the contrast of equal volume "cell" between the altered rocks and original rocks, so "unit cell" volume correcting is very necessary.
