The contact temperature is the sum of the instantaneous temperature rise (TR) and bulk temperature. The calculation of instantaneous TR by the classical method is the solution for a problem in which a heat source is moved along a semi-infinite surface. In order to find the instantaneous TR, the boundary of the body is divided into elements known as basic elements. The heat source is also divided into elements known as moving elements. For the bulk temperature, so far studies have been made only on bulk temperature...

For the bulk temperature, so far studies have been made only on bulk temperature in the steady state. In this paper, the residual TR in a repetitively heated body is considered and the bulk temperature is found as a transient heat transfer problem based on BEM. The variation of the bulk temperature with time is obtained.

Then the principles of these technologies and the range of their applications are analyzed.
