(3) The comparable portion of the energy consumption, i. e. that at the metallurgical and rollingmills, was also too high by about 18.6 million T. E. C. The sum of the above items amounts to 44.5million T. E. C. The following proposals are made to save energy: (1) Reduce the production of foundry pig iron and iron used in steelmaking. About 6.5 millionT. E. C. can be saved in this way. (2) Save 8 million T. E. C. by taking appropriate technicalmeasures in steel plants. (3) Save 1 million T. E. C. in the auxiliary industry. A sum of 15.5 millionT. E. C. can thus be saved, enough for the production of about 10.6 million tons more steel It isestimated that 38.6 million tons of iron, 45 million tons of steel and 32 million tons of rolledproducts may be produced in the year 1985 without consuming any more energy than in 1979. Theproposed energy saving measures are discussed in detail in the article.

This article states briefly the classification of waste heat and the presentsituation of waste heat utilization. Two types of waste heat recovery are con-cluded. It have saved 80000 tec which is worth ?3 million yuan. Especially in 1990 comprehensive energy consumption per ton steel was equal to 1330. 4 kgce and comparable energy consumption per ton steel 1040 kgce. Those come up to the first class energy-saving enterprise standard in China.

太钢是我国最大的特殊钢基地,每年消耗230多万吨标准煤。从1985年开始,太钢从实际出发,在节能技改工作中,着眼于“新”、立足于“小”、力争于“快”,完成了以新材料、新技术、新工艺、新设备为核心的214项小型节能项目,收到了以小求大,事半功倍的经济效果。六年中,共节约8万t标准煤,价值3000万元。特别是在1990年,吨钢综合能耗和吨钢可比能耗分别达到1300.4和1040kg标煤,达到了国家一级节能企业的标准。
