The reflex klystron under study is of metal construction with integral resonant cavity operating in the "X" band.Analysis is made of the effects of overload, long line, multiple transits of electrons, parasitic resonance and imperfections in the design of the integral resonator.Among the factors which affect the load characteristics the most important one is shown to be the design of the resonator, especially that of the distribution of side and gap capacitances as well as the curvature of the grids in the gap.The theory of parasitic resonance is briefly treated, and the experiments which have been performed to locate the parasitic resonance are described. Finally, a method of eliminating the parasitic resonance is illustrated.

A low-cost, easily constructed electron spin resonance (ESR) cavity for "high temperature experiments is presented in this paper. The design considerations and construction of the cavity are described, and the experimental rescut discussed. With this cavity, sample temperatures of up to 700℃ are reached without change in Q and the resonance frequency. Moreover, desirable spectral line-shaps are obtained.

作者研制了一种低成本、易制造的电子自旋共振(ESR)高温腔。文中先叙述谐振腔的设计依据及其结构,然后对实验结果进行讨论,样品的温度可达700℃左右,仍能保持腔体的谐振频率和Q值稳定,谱线形状符合要求。

Matrix optics was used to obtain the equivalent cavity parameters of resonatrs with thick lenses.The properties of the resonators are analysed according to the thermally stable conditions,and design formulas,tables and charts of thermally stable fundamental mode operation for various kinds of solid state lasers are given.
