During 1990 to 1993, nine Chinese hybrid rice combina- tions (Shanyou 64, Weiyou 64,D You 64, Shanyou Gui33,Shanyou Gui 99, Weiyou 77,Weiyou 46, Weiy- ou 6, Weiyou 1126 and Zaoyou 1)and one coventional variety Kafushi 5(the check)were introduced and ex- perimentized fristly in Zambia. The results showed that D You 64 and Shanyou 64 yielded the same as the check Kafushi 5, but matured 12~13 days earlier than the check in 1990/199l ;all the other hybrids yielded 11.0%~63.8%higher than ITA 302, the African check, but only three(Weiyou 77,Weiyou 46 and Shanyou Gui 99) higher than the Chinese check Kafushi 5 with the yield advantage of 5.35%~32.6%in 1992/1993. It was also found that hybrid rice had longer growth duration(11~24 days), higher seed set- ting percentage(5.0%~7.2%), heavier 1000 grain weight(0.1~2.5g) and better grain quality in Zam- bia than in China. Futhermore, hybrid rice showed higher seed setting percentage(10.9%~17.1%)than conventional rice in Zambia.

In Asia, hybrid rice production is now very limited with an area of about 150 million hectares covering only 10% of total rice area (1 480 million hectares), and is dominantly in China. To develop hybrid rice in the countries other than China, the successful experiences of China such as governmental strong supports and heavy investments, nationwide great cooperations, establishment of sound seed production system could be used for reference. In Asia, hybrid rice production is now very limited with an area of about 150 million hectares covering only 10% of total rice area (1 480 million hectares), and is dominantly in China. To develop hybrid rice in the countries other than China, the successful experiences of China such as governmental strong supports and heavy investments, nationwide great cooperations, establishment of sound seed production system could be used for reference. The developing strategy of hybrid rice production in Asia was also suggested. It mainly included: specific organizations led by FAO should be set up for developing hybrid rice; China should train for hybrid rice personnel and dispatch experts for other countries; China should transfer actively the hybrid rice technology, parents and hybrid seeds to other countries; diverse international cooperations and exchanges should be conducted.

Data show that hybrid rice planting area accounts for over half of the total rice growing areas in China these years. The combinations of CMS WA (wild abortive) was still the dominant one in terms of three line hybrid rice production, and the following ones were CMS G, D as well as CMS ID, while their cultivation area ratios are growing...

Main types of cytoplasmic male sterile lines (CMS) which applied in hybrid rice production and corresponding cultivation areas from 1996 to 1998 in China were analyzed. Data show that hybrid rice planting area accounts for over half of the total rice growing areas in China these years. The combinations of CMS WA (wild abortive) was still the dominant one in terms of three line hybrid rice production, and the following ones were CMS G, D as well as CMS ID, while their cultivation area ratios are growing gradually year by year. In regard to two line hybrid rice, breakthrough achievements have been made in China, more than ten combinations being approved at provincial level, and the extensive utilization of the dual purpose genic male sterile line Peiai 64S indicates the promising prospects of the two line hybrid rice. Furthermore, several putative varieties of super hybrid rice have been developed, and some of them reached daily rice grain production 100 kg/hm 2 in several trial sites at the size of seven hectares or so.

分析了 1996~ 1998年我国杂交水稻生产应用中主要品种的胞质类型及播种情况。现阶段 ,中国杂交水稻种植面积占水稻年播种面积的 5 0 %以上。生产上应用的三系杂交稻仍以野败胞质为主 ,其次为冈· D型和印尼水田谷型 ,后者的面积比重在逐年增加。两系杂交稻研究取得新突破 ,10余个组合通过了省级审定 ,培矮 6 4S的广泛应用展示了两系杂交稻超三系杂交稻的诱人前景。我国业已育成超级杂交稻苗头组合 ,个别组合在部分百亩 (6 .6 7hm2 )连片示范点已经达到了日产稻谷10 0 kg/ hm2的超级稻指标
