该文通过对若干翻译教材和翻译论著中一些翻译实例的分析 ,揭示了这样一个现象 :无论是翻译教材还是论著 ,在理论论述上都颇成一体 ,但著者在翻译实践上均暴露出功力不足或细心不够 ,故而 ,这些教材和论著的指导作用无论在技术上还是在学风上都大打折扣。笔者认为 ,翻译理论固然重要 ,但良好的翻译质量则是翻译研究的灵魂所在 ,也是翻译课程质量的保证所在。即所谓“译论固可立 ,译笔价更高”。

1998年我校率先开始在研究生中开设法律英语课程,现已逐渐形成了一门相对独立的特色课程体系。几年来,我们取得了一定的经验,但也遇到一些问题和困难。本文在对毕业生进行问卷调查的基础上,讨论了法律英语课程质量的评价指标,用层次分析法确定了各项指标的权值,利用模糊数学方法对法律英语课程质量进行综合评价,做出科学的、定量的描述,从而对法律英语教学的现状有所了解,并为今后的法律英语课程建设提供借鉴。

针对网络条件大学英语教学改革的深化出现的监控不足的情况,根据语言监控理论、自主学习理论和远程教育课程质量要求,提出应当建立由学生、教师、课程和计算机网络中心四大要素构成的立体监控体系。并对于该体系四要素的内容和关系做了初步而具体的构想。
