On basis of the thorough analysis of the deficiencies of the current requirement engineering techniques, this paper puts forward an automatic conversion method from the customer requirement knowledge to product configuration knowledge based on ontology mapping. In addition, this paper discusses the customer requirement domain ontology and product configuration domain ontology, then proposes an ontology-based customer requirement model (CRM) and an ontology-based product configuration model(PCM). Based on the rules of ontology mapping,a PCM modeling framework is provided, which consists of ontology mapping, knowledge mapping and model mapping. Also, the corresponding algorithm for acquisition of PCM is presented.
