In order to understand reproduction health level of premarital health care objects and study significance of premarital health care and promote the work, the data of 12279 young men and young women premarital health care from 1997 to 1999 in Jieshou were analyzed statistically. The results showed that through premarital examination, the average detection rate of diseases was 22.8%. Incidence of genital system was 15.6% and incidence of STD was 0.72%.
In China, Guangxi province piloted preconceptional HIV testing and counseling among couples who sought the then mandatory premarital medical examination as a component of the three-pronged approach to reduce mother to child transmission of HIV.
The Laboratory maintains premarital medical examination forms, if available, for all states that require a serologic test for syphilis.
